Can chihuahuas be cared for in a townhouse in Southern California? Baby chihuahuas? Adult chihuahuas? And can I have information about chihuahuas?
Answers:
yeah i guess so, they are lap dogs and enjoy being indoors, but they are VERY yappy and yap at everything, it may send your neighbours, and you batty.
If you do just be sure you take it out doors as often as you can to help stimulate its mind, it will probably bet bored very quickly being indoors all day.(and yap prefusively)
If your talking about just having one as a pet, then yes it would do great in a town home. They are little and must live inside, they don't require a lot of room either. But they can be stubborn and difficult to potty train. Most Chi owners will just train them to go on newspaper or piddle pads in the house because they don't like to go outside as a general rule.

Of course, they are small lap type dog
Yes, they do well in any type home, an apartment, condo, large house, small house. You can even train them to use a litterbox. Are you planning on raising chi pups? Chihuahuas are great dogs. One of the main problems with puppies is they are prone to low blood sugar. They should have feed in front of them all the time. They can be a little yappy. Here is a great site about these wonderful little dogs.
Sure they can live in a townhouse, but as other's said they are prone to being quite yappy. And just because they're small and can run around the house doesn't mean they don't have to be walked everyday. Don't be taken in from breeders that advertise "teacup" chihuahuas.there's no such thing.
Yes they can. I have two adults and two puppies. I don't live in a townhouse but I live in the middle of town. My dogs are trained to go outside and they also trained to use a puppy pad. They are very easy to train. They are very loving dogs and very protective.
