Can dogs eat raw eggs?

Answers:
To all the people who keep saying that raw eggs make a dog's coat shiny, that is a myth..an old wives' tale..a total falsehood. It has never been true, despite being constantly passed around as 'true.'

Raw eggs actually contain a substance that makes a dog's coat more DULL, not shiny. It causes a biotin deficiency in them. This is WELL KNOWN among people who have an education in animal nutritional physiology and biochemistry. If you don't, I'm not sure why you'd even answer a question you're not qualified to. :-/
(Just FYI: cooking eggs destroys that substance, so it's no longer an issue..but you really shouldn't feed dogs cooked eggs for other reasons, unless you have been specifically directed to do so by your veterinarian.)

Dogs can and do get Salmonella poisoning from raw eggs as well.
its good for they're coats or jackets
OH MY YES!
Ewwww.but yes they can and I hear it is good for them. Lucky them.
Sure , but they have a hard time cracking them open.
all eggs are same. So you can even give snake's eggs, with out any problem.
If people can get sick from raw eggs don't you think dogs can too.
yes, and its good for them too
Yes, but they shouldn't be fed raw to dogs for the same reason people don't eat them raw. Eggs may have salmonella which makes us very sick.
Yes, it makes their coats shiney!so does olive oil.

But only give it one every week, as raw eggs can contain selmonella, which makes you very sick, if the egg is infected, but dont worry, its very unlucky to get one thats infected.
its good for there fur but not for them
yea they like them makes their coat shinny
All the time.
In agricultural areas, the term "suck egg dog" is an insult because some dogs will go into the hen house and help themselves to the hen's eggs.
This costs the farmer money (see "egg money") and deprives the farmer's family of cheap protien and nourishmnet.
Yes,it's very good for there coats. But you have to crack it open for them.
Yes they can and love them, good source of protein. People who have chickens have to teach their dog not to get the eggs, once it does, it will most times never stop "Sucking Eggs". If you give a dog raw eggs, crack them over their food, do not let them have the whole egg. I guess in town it OK, in the country where people have chickens, it a "No, No"!
Yes they can. I wouldn't give it eggs all the time, but mix one egg with their dog food. Maybe 2 or 3 times a week. This is good for their coats, or you could try vegetable or corn or olive oil. About a tablespoon or two mixed in with their dog food.
i thank so just not to many all the time or all he or she eat's it's ok if he/she just ate on or two but if she's eating about 5 or 6 a day every day for monthes i dont' thank that's too good for her health.
i would say yes, but ask a vet or sumthing first, but anyway why would u give your dog a raw egg?
yes shells also. dogs are carnivores not human they are supposed to have raw food, their digestive system is highly acidic and fast able to accept raw food but always do research do not just start throwing raw food at the dog there is a right and wrong way.
Yes, it makes them healthier and makes their coat look better, but don't give them to much!
ya if it is good for them
yes they can it helps there coat but dont make it a everyday thing cuz it also can make them sick
it is not good 4 them it will make them sick

  1. This is not true. This is the only source that has ever said that it makes their coat dull....
